Magical Stay in Canggu – Tugu Bali – Hotel Review

When we began planning our trip to Bali, we heard about Canggu and its vibrant scene, with its stylish cafes and restaurants, laid-back beach clubs and untouched rice fields. From the beginning, we knew we had to stay there.

So what is the best place to stay in Canggu, if not the Tugu Hotel? One of the first and most traditional hotels in the area, it is perfectly located on a small street a few steps from the sea.

Expect to be spoiled to the fullest. We were treated like royalty. Starting with our transfer in, with cold towels, water and fresh fruit, we knew we had chosen the right place. Arriving at a traditional temple-like building, we floated into a magical Indonesian spirit. The hotel itself is a museum, with antiques from all over Indonesia and the Kingdoms of Java.

We were greeted with a Balinese ceremony to lift our spirits and detoxify our minds and, in the blink of an eye, we began to understand why Tugu was voted one of Bali’s most charming and romantic hotels with the greatest hospitality. What a magical setting.

Walking down a beautiful path toward our room, listening to the sounds of nature, we were impressed by the hotel facilities, with a beautiful pool and several places to have a lazy breakfast – anytime! That’s it folks! There is no pre-set breakfast time and you can have it wherever you want. Yes, whenever and wherever you want. Isn’t it perfect? Something only a unique boutique hotel like this can offer.

In fact, the cuisine is more than fantastic. We had the most wonderful colorful bowls of the entire trip, overlooking the ocean, while having a delicious cup of tea on the terrace. And when night comes, the acclaimed JI Restaurant, voted number 1 in Bali in 2018, is your place to eat.

With a lively atmosphere, Asian decor and absolutely fantastic food, I could not recommend it more. We had a delicious tasting menu that could be part of a Gods feast. What a taste!!!!

Although the hotel service, food and facilities being fantastic, I must say that for me the cherry on top was our bathroom. Can you imagine waking up early in the morning, going to your outdoor bathroom and being greeted by cute fish from your own aquarium? It’s definitely bathroom goals, isn’t it?

They are so well located that you can easily reach anywhere you want within a few steps – from the beach to most restaurants, boutiques and cafes. And if you wish to go a little further, you can take the lovely bike – hotel courtesy – and make your way through the vibrant streets of Canggu. Maybe you could end up in a dreamy rice field, like I did.

Paraíso Exclusivo nas Falésias de Uluwatu – Review de Hotel – Karma Kandara Bali

Quando começamos a planejar nossa viagem a Bali (post em breve), nossa idéia era terminar o roteiro em uma praia isolada para relaxar nos últimos dias da nossa viagem. E foi o que fizemos.

Ficar no Karma Kandara, na parte mais ao Sul da ilha, foi definitivamente um sonho tornado realidade. Cravado nos penhascos de Uluwatu, o Karma Kandara pode ser definido com uma experiência única e de luxo.

As instalações do hotel são surpreendentes. Você precisa de um carrinho para explorar tudo, tão grande que é. Caminhos lindamente decorados e floridos levam ao restaurante principal Al Mare, de onde você pode admirar a vista de tirar o fôlego. Uau!

A piscina infinita oferece vistas estupendas para o Oceano Índico e a bela Karma Beach, a praia particular do Karma Kandara, acessível apenas a 360 graus ou um rápido passeio de elevador de 5 minutos.

No caminho para a praia parece que você está chegando no céu. 50 tons de azul em uma baía calma protegida por recifes de coral que mais parece uma lagoa na maré baixa. O Karma Beach Bar adiciona um toque elegante para completar a experiência luxuosa, com excelente cozinha e maravilhosas vistas do mar, acompanhadas por música animada.

Que tal uma noite de cinema na praia? As sessões de cinema nunca mais serão as mesmas depois disso. Imagine-se assistindo a um filme sob as estrelas, com uma brisa fresca do mar, petiscando uma pizza de estilo italiano e um copo de vinho. Para finalizar, um jantar à luz de velas no restaurante Al Mare.

Aproveite bastante, trabalhe ainda mais, certo? Começávamos nossos dias por lá fazendo exercícios matinais na bela academia com vista para a selva e o mar. E o que dizer sobre uma aula de ioga com o Oceano Índico como pano de fundo? Relaxando com sons reais da natureza. Eu poderia pedir algo mais na vida?

Acho que não, mas o Karma Kandara pode entregar ainda mais. Imagine isto: agora você está entrando em um santuário chamado Karma Spa. Debruçada sobre as falésias, com o som das ondas ao fundo, lá está a sua sala de tratamento lindamente decorada. 

O Couples Ocean Ritual foi certamente a experiência de spa mais incrível que já tivemos. Da cabeça aos pés, um tratamento de 2 horas para eliminar qualquer tensão. Mais do que relaxado, nós nos sentimos revigorados. Graças a Deus, nos sentimos vivos!!!

Karma Kandara foi o final perfeito de uma maravilhosa viagem a Bali. Obrigado Equipe Karma por nos mimar do começo ao fim. Nós definitivamente voltaremos em breve.

Secluded Retreat in Uluwatu’s Cliffs – Karma Kandara Bali – Hotel Review

When we started planning our trip to Bali (complete post soon), my idea was to end it up the itinerary on a secluded beach to relax in the last days of our trip. And that’s what we did.

Staying at Karma Kandara, on the southernmost part of the island, was definitely a dream come true. Steeped on the cliffs of Uluwatu, Karma Kandara is all about a unique experience.

The hotel facilities are amazing. You need a cart to explore everything, so big it is. Beautifully decorated paths lead to the main restaurant Al Mare, from where you can admire a view to die for. Oh my gosh!

The infinity pool offers stunning views over the Indian Ocean and the beautiful Karma Beach, Karma Kandara’s private beach, accessible by 360 degrees or a quick 5-minute elevator ride.

On the way to the beach it looks like you are arriving in the Heaven: 50 shades of blue in a calm bay protected by coral reefs that looks more like a lagoon at low tide. Karma Beach Bar adds a stylish touch to complete the luxurious experience, with great cuisine and wonderful sea views, accompanied by lively music.

How about a movie night on the beach? Movie sessions will never be the same after this. Imagine yourself watching a movie under the stars with a fresh sea breeze, snacking on an Italian-style pizza and a glass of wine.

Play hard, work harder, right? We began our days there doing our morning exercises in the beautiful gym overlooking the jungle and the sea. And what about a yoga class with the Indian Ocean as your background? Relaxing with real sounds of nature. Could I ask for anything more in life?

I don’t think so, but Karma Kandara can deliver even more. Picture this: now you are entering a sanctuary called Karma Spa. Perched on the cliffs, with the sound of the waves in the background, there is your beautifully decorated treatment room. 

The hand-picked Couples Ocean Ritual was certainly the most amazing spa experience we’ve ever had. From head to toe, a 2 hour treatment to wash away any tension. More than relaxed, we felt refreshed. Thank God, we felt alive !!!

Karma Kandara was the perfect wrap up of a marvelous trip to Bali. Thanks Karma Team for pampering us from beginning to end. We are definitely coming back soon.
